On May 23rd, the Diablo Valley Radio Controllers club hosted a social event for NF Inc California families and friends. It was a day of fun and fellowship, much appreciated by those in attendance. The planes and barbeque were the original focus of the day, but the true highlight of NF Fly Day was the support provided.
Despite strong winds, members of the club showcased a few of their planes, demonstrating tricks and impressing all who watched. DVRC members answered questions and explained the mechanisms that control the planes.
In addition to demonstrating the planes, DVRC members demonstrated generosity. They shared their day and their clubhouse with those in attendance. They held a raffle, donating all proceeds to NFC, and they even barbequed for those who attended – providing all of the fixings. They listened as NFC members explained how Neurofibromatosis affects their lives and asked sincere questions, hoping to learn more. And, they gave those with Neurofibromatosis the opportunity to spend quality time together.
The Neurofibromatosis diagnosis often leaves members feeling isolated. Those who attended Fly Day had the opportunity to feel and know that they are not alone.
